About Me

Hi! ~ My name is Sara Sandburg and I am a Certified Doula through the Doulas of North America [www.dona.org] World-Wide Certification Program. Although I have only been training and practicing as a Doula for a short time, I have always had a fascination of the true miracle of birth and have personally studied prenatal and child development for several years. I am a graduate of the University of Utah with a Family and Consumer Studies degree in Family Studies and Human Development, have taken in-depth childbirth classes and Birthing From Within classes, and I quite honestly get my “kicks & giggles” from talking about and supporting women in birth (my poor husband is quite the sport to listen to me go on and on and on about it!). Discovering the Doula profession has truly been a wonderful miracle for me and I am enjoying every moment of it!

As a Doula and as a woman, I have a strong belief that birthing is a normal process and that our body knows what to do and how to take care of itself. I therefore feel it is important to pay attention to and listen to our bodies in all types of births and circumstances, medicated or unmedicated, so that the incredible miracle of birth can take place. It is my personal goal to help you feel like you truly can listen to your body and that your feelings, opinions, and needs are accepted and respected. Through this, I hope to help you have a satisfying and memorable birth.

Other than that, I am a happily married 23 year old girl with a wonderful and encouraging husband and an incredibly supportive work environment—thus allowing me to pursue my ultimate passion in life. I am the Young Women’s president in my ward (which I love), am crazy about the outdoors, have an incredible passion for the importance of families, and have a good time “attempting” to be a harpist. I love getting to know people and I hope to get to know you soon!

Until then!!!
